Windrush Waves

Windrush Waves was a new opportunity launched by Black Cultural Archives in June 2020 for young people to showcase their creativity and celebrate Black history.

We invited 14 - 21-year-olds to respond artistically to the story of the Windrush generation and to highlight this significant part of Britain’s history and present.

The images were selected by artist Linett Kamala, who provided mentoring to one of the young artists to help them develop their practice and gain experience working alongside an industry professional.

Made possible with support from City Bridge Trust.
